Amber Benson bio

Amber Benson (born April 14, 1970) is an American actor, performer as well as a writer and director. Her most famous character is Tara Maclay, in the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Alongside that, she's produced, directed and starred for her own film Chance and Lovers Liars & Lunatics. Benson also appeared in the movie Kiss the Bride. Benson was the youngest child of Edward Benson and Diane Benson. She was born in Birmingham in Alabama, on January 1977. Her younger sister is Danielle, who has a career as an artist. Her father, Benson's was Jewish as was her mother was Southern Baptist raised by Southern Baptist parents. Her family was raised going to a Reform congregation in Alabama. The career of Benson continues to grow after the conclusion of Buffy. She appeared in films like The Killing Jar, and shows such as Morganville The Series. While behind the lens Benson also used her talents as a writer to write The Ghosts of Albion television series. In 2010 she directed Drones. Buffy estimates that at least 1800 Slayers are in existence with 500 who are members of the Scooby Gang. Slayers are now able to be revived once they attain an appropriate level of age.
